Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ...

I bought Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One on disc, but when starting one of the included extra DLC packs\maps (IE Festive), it states they are trail versions and you cannot save games. The extra skins also don't work and direct you to the store
to buy and then display a price. Before installing the game, the icon in the menu will show Minecraft Favorites Edition, but after installing, the icon will then always revert to "Minecraft Favorites for XBox One".

My Console: XBox One S 1TB

    Things I have tried:

-I have uninstalled re-installed several times with reboots and Shut Downs in between and after uninstall/re-installs.

-Disabled auto install and auto updates, then performed manual install from queue

-Uninstalled game, Unchecked "Make this my home XBox", re-installed game, re-checked "Make this my home XBox".

-Uninstalled, and re-installed from disc with Network disabled

-Verified extra DLC Maps\Textures are installed via Manage Game -Uninstalled\re-installed DLC packs separately via Manage Game

-Tried running game after re-install without game update, but it won't let you and prompts you to update

-Sign out\Sign in between and after uninstall\re-installs -Verified all Xbox and game updates are applied

-Verified disc and disc cover shows Minecraft Favorites Edition, and that I paid $29.99 from reputable vendor.

    -Verified I have sufficient space

-Verified permissions are open and no restrictions

    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    :)

DLC not transfered over from old to new Minecraft Xbox successfully

I have a problem with the DLC transfering between the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and Minecraft (new). As Mojang said your DLC from the Old Minecraft should transfer over to the new Minecraft. That worked for all my DLC but the DLC that was included in the
Minecraft: Xbox One Favarites Edition (That's the Version I own). It just didn't transfered over to the new Minecraft.

Information (if needed to help me:

    Console: Xbox One S

Old Mineraft: Digital Version of the Minecraft: Xbox One Favorites Edition

New Minecraft: Digital Version of the Game Minecraft (I was not in the Beta)

    Borderlands DLC disc won't read.

If you own the physical disc with the DLC's, the DLC's are not added to your account's purchase history.

"Borderlands: For all editions, DLC comes included on Xbox One. For the Game of the Year edition, accessing DLC doesn't require you to insert the DLC disc on Xbox One. Only your purchased DLC, however, will be usable on Xbox 360."

Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ...

    Hey there, Air!

I saw your bump in an older thread earlier today, and I'm happy to see that you've got your own thread already! I am sorry to see the issues, however.

To clarify one thing, you purchased the Minecraft Favorites as a disc for the DLC rather than buying the

    Xbox One bundle, correct?

I also know that this question might sound a bit condescending, or obvious, but I need to verify it. You are trying to play the game with the disc inserted, yes? Some users, especially if they are new to the console, do not realize that after installation
the game disc is still required to be in the disc drive.

The last thing I would like to check is if the DLC came as an extra code in the disc case, or if it's simply on the disc itself.

These should help me out in finding a starting point to dig into what might be going on. You've done a ton of troubleshooting yourself already, so here's to finding out what might be going on! Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ... :)

    Hi MQ,

Thanks for responding and no worries on simple questions...ask away. Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ... :)

Yes, I have the disc in the console at all times since it is the only disc version game we have and I don't think it lets you play the game without it being inserted. (if there's a way, I would be interested to know)

After inspecting the disc and case it came with, I do see that both the disc and the cover state "Minecraft Favorites Edition". I don't see any type of extra code on the case or disc.

Also, before the game is installed it will show an icon for "Minecraft Favorites Edition", but once it is installed it will show as "Minecraft For Xbox One". If I go to the store via the xbox console, I can see both versions of Minecraft side by side and
the "Minecraft For Xbox One" shows as "Installed" and the "Minecraft Favorites Edition" shows a $29 price which tells me that it is not registering properly during or after the install.

Thank you so much for clarifying! I always feel bad asking the simple questions when users clearly have done a lot of "advanced" troubleshooting on their own. Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ... ;)

When you say the content itself not showing installed with the Favorites Edition, there's an explanation for that. Your console is registering as having the base game installed because the disc is what's giving the entitlement, as opposed to a digital entitlement
you would receive from purchasing the Favorites Edition in the Store. If you go to the individual DLC content in the Store that comes with the disc, that should be showing as installed there. At least, that's the design. If it's not, that would be interesting
    to know.

Here's what I need, though: Pictures.

    • Manage game section showing the content is installed
    • In-game where the content is
    • Error message when trying to use content

I'm trying to work with a few people here to ensure that this content isn't broken for some reason. Those screenshots will help a lot with giving them a clear idea on what exactly is happening. You can either put them in your post (though be aware that image
size could impact your ability to post them all in one post), or upload them to a file sharing site like
OneDrive and post the link here.

I'll be able to get that to the right people and then determine our next steps with them. Minecraft Favorites Edition for XBox One (disc) included DLC map can only be played as trail ... :)

All seems to be OK now. Dell sent me a new disc after some troubleshooting with them. Also, in hindsight, there may have been some user errors due to not being familiar with the game.

    Some observations:

-Non purchased worlds are mixed with owned worlds and it's hard to distinguish for someone not familiar with the game. I think a little lock symbol shows which ones are installed and owned. Most worlds that you can select are installed but not owned.
(Look at the back of the disc cover to see which ones are owned). On the favorites pack, I think it only gives you 2 extra worlds; the other items are textures or skins which you select in different area.

-Other features from the favorites pack are textures or skins that you access by creating a new default world and THEN selecting a texture that you own. Again there are many textures you can select that you don't don't own and the favorites pack only includes
    a few.

-Not sure why Halo world and festive pack now works and before did not. (see screens below)

-Texture Packs installed from disc still do not show as owned in the store and continue to show a price, but they do work now. (unable to take screens in store area)

Thanks so much for the follow up here, Air! I'm happy to see that it all seems to be sorted out, and I'm incredibly sorry to see any confusion around this. Even if you aren't familiar with the game, seeing confusion from a customer's end let's us know that
